Finally.....a new post!!!

I hope everyone has stayed safe, warm, and cozy during these 2 icy days. I know it's been a much needed time of rest for me! I'm attempting to blog from home and see if it cooperates, so fingers crossed! So much has been going on since the last post, I'm just going to try posting some pictures with some activities we've done. Enjoy!

Eating Swiss cake rolls as we learned about Christmas Around the World. These come from France. Yum! We also put our shoes in the hallway to receive treats as the children in many other cultures do instead of stockings.

Our Grinch Day complete with tasty Grinch floats!

Our Christmas party fun!

We did a STEM activity in our measurement unit with the challenge, how long of a paper chain can you make with 1 sheet of paper? I loved the creativity, thought, and teamwork that went into this activity. Great job!

They rotated around the room measuring different items/body parts. They loved comparing their feet, hands, and height.

We went to the Wonder Room for an Upstate Watershed lesson on solids, liquids, and gases.
Acting like particles of a solid
Trying to get oil out of water using various tools like cotton balls, foil, straws, etc.

Launch activity for our inventor/invention unit. We went on a "Wonder Walk" observing different inventions and writing ideas and wonders down about each item. I hope this stirred some curiosity within them to get them ready to create their own remarkable invention! :)

They explored with magnets and learned what a magnet attracts. They loved watching the magnets repel each other if they were the same poles :)

Exercising with the rest of the world for JAM (just a minute) to help set a world record. We love to get up and move around!

Our Valentine's Day ice cream sundae party. Delicious! Thank you to all that sent in goodies for the sundaes.

That's it for now. More to come soon! Remember to read the weekly newsletter each Monday to stay up to date with important events and assignments. Have a fabulous day!
